The sign didn’t explain that the buyer must help, assist the hen in her labor, wipe her brow, stroke her feathers, catch the egg in one’s hands to place in the carton, one after another, day into night, the sacrifice was extreme.
Yet another reason I don’t eat eggs. 🙂 Amusing little response to the question – nicely done. Thanks for linking it up!
Eggs are worth the effort!
Looks like a lot of effort for an egg!
That’s a lot to ask for the purchase of an egg!
LOL I may never look at eggs the same way again!! Creative take on the prompt. 🙂
Those had better be some excellent eggs!
I guess the yolk’s on you.
Very unique take. “Wipe her brow, stroke her feathers,” is lovely!
Such a unique response! I love your title too-perfect!
What a wild photograph! A real hands-on operation you have there!
Love the way you got up-close and personal with the hen, Jan : )
What a unique take on the prompts. I’d never thought about childbirth (egg-birth?) from the hen’s point of view. Good one!
You had me at ‘stroke her feathers’. :))
I like your description of the hen’s labor and how you made it like a woman’s. (I don’t often think about where eggs come from). I like the sculpture in your photo, too.
You must earn the egg! lol..good one 🙂
“wipe her brow, stroke her feathers” Love.
I don’t think I could eat the eggs after that. lol. Very nice.
