Advent 3: Overdue Books

While other people are reading books read by smart people who keep track of the best, I am reading what I found in the Little Free Library down the street, yet another Scandinavian mystery with a woman cop, which is interesting but pedestrian, and don’t I know that more effort on my part would yield greater intellectual challenges and make me considerably more erudite in my conversations and so it occurs to me that I would feel better now in my old age if I had kept a list all these years of reading if only to prove that at some points I was reading what all the smart people read.

  1. This post reminds me of a book sample i downloaded recently: “Ducks, Newbury Port.” Awkward title but interesting read. Won several awards. Love to know what you think.
